In response to market demand for a simple, effective and cost efficient system for disinfecting clusters between cows Ambic has launched PeraSpray, a unique new system for disinfecting milking clusters between cows. Based on its extensive knowledge of spray technology, acquired over many years from the development of its world leading range of teat spray systems, the PeraSpray system is specially designed for use in conjunction with low concentration Peracetic Acid (PAA) to disinfect both the inside and the outside of milking liners.
The problem
The milking cluster is a well known source of transmission of mastitis pathogens from cow to cow. Research has shown that once an infected cow has been milked, the next 6 to 8 cows milked through that same cluster are at risk of contamination, the first 1 or 2 cows being exposed to a particularly high level of risk.
The solution
- Sanitation of the cluster between cows is known to be an effective method of reducing the risk of contamination by killing any pathogens present in the cluster before it is re-attached to the next cow
- The Ambic PeraSpray system uses spray technology as an effective and cost efficient method of cluster sanitisation
- Cluster spraying has the advantage of delivering fresh solution each time the cluster is sprayed. The solution is always active and effective - unlike cluster dipping
- Cluster spraying offers a low capital investment solution to cluster disinfection with a short payback period - unlike backflush systems
